Hunting Equipment and Games of Tutankhamun

Egyptians entertained themselves by playing sports and games. When they went hunting they rode in chariots and used boomerangs, swords, knives, daggers, bows and arrows.

A popular game for all social classes in Ancient Egypt was called senet or passing. It was played in Egypt beginning in the Early Dynastic era.

In the New Kingdom, senet was illustrated in Spell 17 of the Book of the Dead to show how the deceased could overcome any difficulty or obstacle in the underworld.

Here, the deceased is sitting under a canopy, alone or with his wife, playing senet with an invisible opponent who is challenging him to show his cleverness in the hereafter
