Education of Christian Women

Egyptians embraced Christianity, for which women remained a source of inspiration. With her manners and virtue, the Christian woman was a role model for pagans that attracted them to the Christian faith.

The Christian woman dedicated her life to humble service, placing Saint Paul the Apostle before her eyes. Christian women who displayed good character, lived chastely, and lived up to their responsibilities earned the respect and trust of their priests and teachers.

For example, the principal of the School of Alexandria used seven young women to copy the final script of The Holy Book, after editing and amending. It was written in seven dialects. This shows how much the men of the Christian faith trusted the education and knowledge of the Christian woman.

Christian women also earned religious posts in the church. They held positions in charge of neighborhoods. A Christian woman would take care of the residents by educating them, relieving their pains, and comforting them. She would also take them to church so they could receive their share of spiritual inspiration
