Daily Life in the Old Kingdom

Ancient Egyptian tombs were decorated with scenes portaying the daily activities on country estates, in offices, and in workshops. Scenes of entertainment were, also, among the types of tomb decoration.

Many examples of tomb decoration could especially be found in the Necropolis of Saqqara from where many museum exhibits originated. Scenes depicting agriculture, the making of jewelry and vases, water sports, and entertainment were found at Saqqara.
